June Reading Wrap Up

View post on Instagram

Here with my first reading wrap-up in quite a while. If I'm being honest, I've become a bit disenchanted with tracking and rating my reading. I think I felt myself steering towards burnout, especially as my bookstore grows and I get more ingrained in the bookstore-to-publisher relationships. I receive probably 20-30 unsolicited galleys (physical ARCs) a month, which is way more than our tiny staff of 4 can read in a month on top of our personal reading, book club reading, and, you know, lives...

So, that being said, I'm separating myself from the expectation to share and rate every single book I read. If I love a book, you'll know. And if I hate a book, you'll probably know that too.

That being said, here are the 8 books I read in June. I would recommend all of them, but a few standouts were A Gentleman's Gentleman, which I could not stop gushing about on my girl's trip/reading retreat, Bury Our Bones, which changed who I am at my core, and The Girls Who Grew Big, which made me cry like 18 times.

Also, PLEASE, go support debut author Maddie Martinez and pre-order her sapphic fantasy book, The Maiden and Her Monster!!!
