Book's I've read and think you should too:

The Cautious Traveler's Guide to the Wastelands (6/18):

A Cautious Traveller's Guide to the Wastelands has captured my attention in a way no book has since The Night Circus. The Wastelands is both whimsical and sinister, and yet, so substantial that it feels like it's waiting just outside your window. This book will leave readers of all genres–historical, fantasy, even mystery-lovers–in complete awe. Read this if you want a steampunk fantasy adventure that feels like a naval adventure.

Foul Days (6/25):

Foul Days is an absolute joy of a book. Full of character antics, thrilling escapades, and shadowy Slavic folklore, this one has read-in-one-sitting potential. Fantasy readers and monster-lovers won't be able to resist the thrall of this fantastic new series. If you ship Sherlock and Watson, pick this one up immediately.

The Night Ends with Fire (7/2):

This is a Mulan reimagining and it's PRETTTYYYYYYY!!! Like really, really, really pretty. I absolutely could not put this book down. I devoured all 400 pages in just a few days. It's a fast-paced, thrill ride of a story for anyone who grew up on stories of powerful women with the power to bring entire kingdoms to their knees.

Midnight Rooms (7/2):

No book has ever Crimson Peak-ed as hard as this book Crimson Peak-ed. If you love gothic fiction run, and I do mean run, to your nearest book store on July 2nd to pick this one up. I have goosebumps, my jaw is on the floor. No, I am not okay. Please advise.

The Dissonance (7/23):

I've been patiently waiting for Hamill's follow up to A Cosmology of Monsters and The Dissonance blew my expectations out of the water. Both otherworldly and achingly human, The Dissonance is full of terror, magic, friendship, and compassion. It completely breaks the expectations and constraints of both the horror and fantasy genres. Read this if you love The Atlas Six, Vita Nostra, and other similarly philosophical magic systems.

Book's I wanna read right now:

Bad Graces (6/18)

I love Kyrie McCauley and I loved All the Dead Lie Down. I am SO excited to see what she does next. I have a e-ARC of this one that I need to just sit down and devour.

Incidents Around the House (6/25)

My friend Adam said this was the scariest book he has ever read by far. Time will tell if he is just a weenie. I shall report back.

Bury Your Gays (7/9)

Confession time, I've never actually read any Chuck Tingle, so I feel like this is going to be the one. It's giving MaXXXine but gay.

Nicked (7/9)

M.T. Anderson but for adults but also middle ages in Italy but also grave robbing but also piracy but also crime noir??? No notes.

I Was a Teenage Slasher (7/16)

This book is going to make me cry and I have just accepted that fact. Apparently this is the book Steven Graham Jones wrote to "get it out of his head" while he was writing the Indian Lake Trilogy. I am not prepared.

Black Bird Oracle (7/16)

The scream I screamed when I found out we were getting a continuation of Diana and Matthew's story. This is one of my comfort series. I will be crawling into a blanket fort and not emerging for 5 to 7 business days.

The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love (7/23)

I love this era of cozy academic fantasy we're in right now. Like, yes, I want nothing more than department drama and rivals-to-lovers romance set on the background of a lowish-stakes fantasy world.
